The Humminbird HELIX is a common underwater search tool for Sheriffs, Fire rescue and Marine police units. Whether looking for a drowning victim or evidence, recording the data preserves the information and allows for an onshore review and/or post processing of the data.
The smaller Humminbird HELIX systems such as the HELIX 7 utilize a micro SD card. The larger systems utilize a full sized SD card for recording your side imaging sonar data. The card should be a maximum of 16 GB in size. But that’s not the only consideration. The card should also be a class 10 with recording speed of 65 Mbps or more
16 GB
Class 10
65 Mbps
The recorded data can then be replayed on the Humminbird unit or post processed in the SAR HAWK sonar post processing software.
